  1. Practice proper hygiene

Hygiene ManWe cannot possibly convey how important personal hygiene is through words. Personal hygiene is the very and foundation of a person’s character; man or woman! Honestly, though, a messy room and a messy car will do, but do NOT compromise on personal hygiene. Puh-lease! And as much as we hate to admit it, we do think men need a little more help in this department more than anything else.  Sorry, not sorry. Cleanliness is SO important, gentlemen, so hear us out before rubbing your bacon greased finger on the mouse.

Personal hygiene doesn’t have to be tough. It isn’t intimidating. We don’t want you to think that you have to become a germophobe or suffer from OCD in this process. You don’t have to carry a pocket sanitizer on your 24/7. It’s pretty much a set of small disciplines that build up to make the biggest difference. It is something as simple (yet essential) as washing your hands before eating, brushing your teeth, tapering your hair, wearing fresh, clean clothes, and so on. Small disciplinary practices like not using the side of your pants as a towel, not sleeping in gym clothes and not wearing the same underwear for the 5th day in a row is all it takes… .seriously. These changes are small, doable and take no effort to execute. But they have a huge impact on building disciple and keeping you safe from illnesses and diseases.

  1. Take care of your skin

skin care for men

People who say men don’t age are idiots. Don’t listen to them. Men do age, and unfortunately, age much quicker and worse than women do. One of the most important features for a well-groomed man is clean, smooth and youthful skin. It is absolutely impossible, and illogical, to expect a man in his 40s to have skin like baby’s bum. But believe us when we say that you can help your skin so much by giving it a little TLC.

First of all, you don’t need to invest thousand or a 9-step Korean skincare routine that takes a little under 50 years to complete. However, it does help to establish a skincare routine based on your skin type. Talk to your dermatologist about a skin analysis. Learn a little about your skin type. Is it dry, oily, combination? Put together a skin routine based on this, What’s also very important is that it helps to begin as early as 25. Invest in a few essentials like a good quality face wash, a hydrating moisturizer, a moisturizing body lotion, and so on. Also, don’t forget to invest in a very good quality sunscreen! Your sunscreen is the first and foremost step to fight signs of aging on your skin.

3. The right barber

BarberWho knows your business better than your wife? The barber, of course! The difference between a man and a smart man is his relationship with his barber. This dude is important. Very important. He is the most important individual in a well-groomed man’s life! But before all that, it is more important that you find the right guy.

Finding the perfect barber is a matter of trial and error. There are going to be a lot of bad haircuts before you find your man. And when you do, cherish him! The right barber will understand you way beyond your haircut. They will understand your style, preference, and bad choice of shampoo. And they do quite a bit of free therapist action too… . . . That apart, it is very important that you select a very well-reputed and well-reviewed barber who knows what they’re doing, starting from haircut to the eyebrows. Speaking of which, try and get your nasal and ear hairs waxed too while you are at the barbers. One very important tip that we want to give you is to become loyal to the barber of your choice. Trust us. It’s a big deal. Because they become just as loyal to you1 It is also very important that you make appointments or set dates before you walk right in. They have a tight schedule and you don’t want your grooming session to be done in a rush. Be smart and fix your date and timing.

Nails cutting

You can tell a lot about a person by the way their nails look. No, really. Nails do a lot of talking. And there’s nothing that says you are a sloppy, clumsy and insincere raccoon more than unkempt and dirty nails. Ew!

If you are aware of how to take better care of your body you will have to work towards well-groomed nails! Nails may not sound like a very prominent feature of your physique, but trust us when we say that people notice it. And taking care of them isn’t that hard. All you have to do is wash and clean them just enough so that it doesn’t look like you dig mud with your hands for a living. There is something about clean and shaped nails that makes men look more professional and disciplined. We highly recommend that you make your way to the salon every now and then and get yourself a very nice manicure and pedicure to keep your nails in check.

Alright, gentlemen. This factor is pretty self-explanatory and simple. .. . . . And yet, Y’all fail to entertain it. The type of clothes you wear say a lot about your personality, likeness, and commitment. Yep. Clothes can do all that. Surprise, surprise. And yet, unfortunately, we have an entire population of men whose sense of style and fashion is very questionable.

Before you make a face, we want to clear out that you don’t need to be wearing designer clothes to look good. In fact, don’t wear a designer at all. You can look and feel great wearing clothes that are right for you. Keep a mix of everything from comfortable casuals to fitted formals. First of all, begin by assessing your body shape. Do not wear clothes overly loose or tight enough to cut off your circulation. Balance! When you travel you may maintain some tips to be well-groomed.  You have to know how to fold shirt in travel so that the fold of the shirts is not wasted. It is also part of your job! You should match your shoes with your dress.

Next, add a splash of color to your wardrobe. We have found men to be somewhat stuck in between what they consider to be “masculine” colors. Like black, grey, white, blue . . . .you get the point. But the thing is, there is no such thing as masculine colors. You can look great in pinks and lavenders as long as you know how to wear it, and with that. Being able to put together an entire outfit based on your style, season and occasion is a very important trait in well-groomed men!

  1. Be more active

This is was a given! Well-groomed men do not sit around being a couch potato for days at a time. It is depressing and annoying and very disrespectful. So, get up, put on those trainers and get out the door! Everyone loves a man who likes to take care of their health and body and mind.

If you want to take better care of your body and mental health, try and practice some physically challenging activities on a regular basis. You don’t have to train like a professional. You don’t have to train at all, really. Just make sure you are participating in being a little more active on a regular basis to ensure that you look and feel great. A jog at the park, an early morning run down the block, surfing on the weekends, hiking with friends, etc., are just some of the ways to stay in shape and having great fun! And which is very important that you have to wake up early in the morning to keep refresh your mind and save time. You have to choose good alarm clocks if you are heavy slippers like me. Fragance men

The fragrance you wear makes a bold statement. It is saying who you are and what you attract, all without having to utter a single word. And people often underestimate this. Don’t be one of those people because well-groomed men really know the art and power of cologne.

You can set quite the impression by what people smell when you walk into the room. Our sense of smell is a powerful thing. It is therefore very important that you find a fragrance that’s true to your personality and style. Like many things, this is quite the trial and error process as well, but once you find that perfect fragrance, there’s no going back! You will hold on to it for years and years to come, and that’s a promise!

Side note: Please do everyone a favor and wear a deo and spritz on some mouth freshener if you travel via subway, use the elevator, or simply exist.

  1. Eat wellEating

We are not the one to be making any comments on your diet and eating habits. We love ourselves some trashy, greasy and glutton-packed meal just as much as you do. But, mind you that there are a time and place for everything. Something that separates the lot from well-groomed men is eating habits.

Don’t get us wrong. It’s not like well-groomed men aren’t allowed to eat fried chicken or vodka by the bottle. It’s that they know when and how much to eat it! Your eating habit says a lot about you, your sincerity and self-love. It is totally okay to indulge in unhealthy and trashy food every now and then, but don’t let this become a part of your natural diet! It bloats you up and makes you look and feel terrible later. On the contrary, you don’t have to be munching on celery sticks and carrots to prove that you have self-control. Just try to eat a little healthier and cleaner than just junk.

reading books

Nothing in the world is quite as attractive and appealing as a man who reads just because. Reading is an amazing skill and talent that everyone should practice. Whether it is the newspaper, a novel, magazine or online, read it!
